Scholarship To Recognize Individuals Valuing Education

STRIVE: The intent of this fund is to provide scholarships to students that have a 2.0 to 3.00 grade-point average.

Restriction Description – The applicant must:

• Be a resident of the Avondale School District
• Have plans to attend a vocational school or college
• Demonstrate willingness to work hard to be successful

Applications – Applications will be made available to the Avondale High School Counseling Office for issuance to eligible students. Applications will be accepted October through March at the Avondale High School Counseling Office or as determined annually by the Foundation.

Scholarship Committee:

The committee will be a quorum of the Foundation Board:

The committee’s primary responsibilities are to:

• Evaluate applications
• Interview applicants if necessary
• Select new award recipient(s)
• Determine the amounts of awards
• Determine the number of awards given
• Determine the number of years recipients are eligible to receive renewals
• Approve annual applications for scholarship renewals
• Recommend disbursements to the Avondale Foundation Board.

Amount of Award(s) – To be decided annually by the Foundation Board

Term of Award(s) (Renewals) – Recipients are eligible to apply for annual renewals of the scholarship each academic school year for a maximum of four years providing the applicant is continuing his/her education.
