Q: What is the Avondale Foundation?
A: An independent non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which raises funds for education and other community programs.
Q: Who runs the Foundation?
A: A volunteer Board of Directors, representative of the Avondale community, sets policies, conducts fundraising,
and ensures that funds are properly controlled and spent. Directors are appointed by the Avondale Board of Education.
Q: How does the Foundation raise its funds?
A: Money is raised by seeking contributions from individual, organizations and businesses; and through various fundraisers.
Fundraisers generally have an element of entertainment and camaraderie, which help to build spirit within the Avondale community.
Q: Can I specify a project or scholarship for my contribution?
A: The Foundation will accept designated contributions as long as they are allowed by law, aligned with the Foundation’s
mission, and authorized by the Board of Directors.
Q: How can I be sure that my money will go where I expect it to go?
A: The Foundation operates under strict State and U.S. Internal Revenue Service guidelines. Internal procedures carefully
control financial transactions and require an annual independent audit.
